UK Multidisciplinary Centre for Neuromorphic Computing at the Workshop "Machine Learning Meets Photonics" at Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies

ree

While the official launch of the Centre is in June, we’re thrilled to share that activities are already underway — and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick things off than by co-organising the International AiPT Workshop: Machine Learning Meets Photonics.

This event brought together researchers from across disciplines to explore how neuromorphic and photonic approaches are shaping the future of computing — and we were especially proud to see members of our Centre’s community presenting their work:

Photonic Spiking Neurons and Spiking Neural Networks for Light-Enabled Neuromorphic Computing and Sensing

  • David Saad – Aston University

In Vitro Human Neurons for Computing

Sustainable Materials and Nanostructures for Neuromorphic Computing

  •  Yang Hao – Queen Mary University of London

Material Discovery via Machine Learning and Research Lab Automation

Optical Reservoir Computing with micro-resonator Frequency Comb

This is just the beginning. We’re excited to connect and collaborate. Stay tuned - there’s much more to come.
